I had a breast cancer scare this year, a lump. I was very fortunate that it was a duct issue, but it was self examination that caught it. I was blown away how they had classify things to get insurance to cover a mamo…when you are under 40. I think they should be available for everyone at a younger age and covered. As women we need more prevention available.

My sister has had several pre-cancer lumps removed. I have had thyroid cancer and our family history seems to pre-dispose us to cancer.

I have been very fortunate not to have immediate family directly impacted by breast cancer. However, one of my favorite ‘moms’ that I know beat breast cancer when our daughters were very young. She’s an amazing, strong woman!
