Easy Baked Apple Crisp

This is my go-to recipe for leftover apples and peaches! Yes, this recipe works great with peaches, too. This easy baked apple crisp is a delicious sweet dish to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, any day of the week that ends with “y”, holiday parties, as a weeknight dessert, etc. Celebrate the best flavors of the season when you combine apples with sugar and spices for an out-of-this-world recipe that is super easy and tasty. Serve your apple crisp with a scoop of ice cream on top.
 
INGREDIENTS:
Filling:
3 cups thinly sliced tart apples
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Apple Pie Spice
Optional Add-Ins:
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Topping:
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup brown sugar (tightly packed)
1/2 teaspoon Apple Pie Spice
2 tablespoons butter (softened)
Try making it with peaches, too!
 
 

Filling Directions:

  1. In a large bowl place sliced apples and sprinkle with lemon juice.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, flour, and Apple Pie Spice.
  3. Sprinkle mixture over apples. Toss until apples are evenly coated. Stir in raisins and walnuts if desired.
  4. Spoon mixture into 4 ramekins or oven-safe dish.
  5. Add 1/4 inch of water to baking pan and place ramekins in the pan.

Topping Directions:

  1. In a small bowl mix together flour, oats, sugar, butter, and Apple Pie Spice.
  2. Spread mixture over apple filling. Cover top loosely with aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in preheated 375-degree oven for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove foil and Bake for 20 minutes or until done

 

Caution: Filling is very hot!
Let cool a bit before enjoying.
