One way to define a woman’s body type is by how her curves connect her bust, waist, and hips.
Remember, you may not fit squarely into one category — most
people don’t!
Women who are top-heavy with a bust three or more inches bigger than hips have an “Apple” body type. Most women with this body type will want to emphasize your legs and behind while drawing attention away from their arms and waist. Prom dresses that fit loosely around the midsection will be the most flattering.
If your waist is about the same as hips and waist, more like a “cylinder” you will want to add frills and belts to give you a more feminine shape. Avoid baggy loose-fitting dresses such as sheath or column dresses which run pretty straight from your shoulders to your toes.
