What would you put in this insulated lunch bag?
Eating out is expensive and often the quality of the food is poor. Wanting healthier and less expensive meals when on the go we started taking our meals with us several years ago. A lunch tote can pay for itself after taking just one lunch for two. Just think of how much you could save in a year! That’s crazy money that you’re throwing away. After using the same two bags for several years it was time for a fresh look.
When our bag arrived the first thing we did was check it for quality in materials and manufacturing. Finding the material thickness ample and the stitching straight and tight it was time to check out the zippers. The plastic zippers are securely stitched, straight, and were a bit stiff at first. However, after a few times opening and closing the bag, they moved smoothly. The Daystyle lunch bag has a zippered outside pocket on the back that is perfect for cash, cards, and such.
The inside is roomy, and the sides have a nice thickness. The three containers; one (1) 3 cup Pyrex rectangle glass container, two (2) 1.6 cup rectangle glass containers – plus an ice pack fit easily inside the bag. After testing the fit, I placed our lunch of sandwiches, fruit, and cheese in the containers as we set out for a day of doctor appointments. This insulated lunch bag kept our food cold from morning until noon. We liked the handy carrying handles and that the bag folds flat for easy storage.
These insulated lunch boxes are functional, durable, and the design is appealing for teens, grown-ups, and grown-up kids, too. My two grandchildren are in that last category, no longer wanting those cute lunch boxes of elementary school but still wanting something stylish to carry their lunch to middle school. This bag meets their be cool standard. Side pockets to hold bottles would have been a great benefit. Since we often take bottled water with us to have with our lunch on-the-go we would like having them. However, overall this bag is much better than bags of a similar size that we have used for taking our meals with us and those that are marketed as school lunch bags. This bag is significantly thicker than any we’ve had.
