When he is sent away to be sold, the group is attacked by bandits, trolls, and other mountain creatures. The Duke wanted him dead, but his wife had other wishes and had secretly sent their daughter, Gallarael, to buy his freedom from the slave markets.

Thanks to excellent descriptors, perfect editing, and the author’s mastery of language Wildwood comes to life as you turn each page. You can see in your mind’s eye the fauna of the forest, the mist as it covers the ground, and the haulkattens’ smooth stride as they carry the group to safety. I know I heard the sound of the arrows flying through the air and the smell of burnt corpses a few times as I read Through the Wildwood. The cover is as mystical and mesmerizing as the pages within. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series as well as other books from this talented writer.
