We recently received this clip-on digital instrument tuner from NIUBIER and thought we would share about our experience with it. As a novice guitar player, Marcus always looks forward to products associated with music and was excited to test this one out. This very straightforward battery operated micro tuner has the ability to tune all types of stringed instruments. Marcus simply installed the included battery and pressed the power button to get started.

The unit illuminated with the letter C for “Chromatic” and he just had to press the button again to move the selector to the right until the first letter of the instrument he wanted to tune was illuminated. hen, he clipped it onto his guitar head and played a note. The note name and string number appeared on the display screen. As he adjusted tuning peg the meter moved as well as the string number and screen color changed. He adjusted each string until the color was green and the meter pointed to the middle. If the color stays white and the meter points LEFT you are in low tune. However, if it stays white and points RIGHT you are in high tune.

Over the years he has used a much larger meter that he had to hold while strumming. Which is very awkward to do. Although accurate his old meter had no backlighting which made it hard to read in limited lighting.

Out With The Old And In With The New!

For the final test, we compared the accuracy of the two meters side by side. While I held the old one he strummed and checked the results that each one gave. In conclusion, this lightweight clip-on tuner performed as well if not better than his old bulky tuner. Plus, he really appreciates the consistent test distance thanks to the ability to clip on this NIUBIER Tuner. We would highly recommend this tuner if you are looking for a great inexpensive tuner to use to tune your instrument.
