Burbank, CA, August 28, 2015 – Experience the story of one small superhero who had the courage to inspire millions when “Batkid Begins” arrives onto DVD and Digital HD on October 6 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The documentary “Batkid Begins” chronicles the one day, in one city, when the world came together to grant one 5-year-old cancer patient his wish. The film will be available early on Digital HD starting on September 25.  
 
“Batkid Begins” was directed by Dana Nachman, who also produced the documentary with Liza Meak. The film was written by Nachman & Kurt Kuenne. Ian Reinhard & John Crane served as executive producers.
 
“Batkid Begins” will be available on DVD for $28.98. The DVD features the theatrical version of the film in standard definition. Fans can also own “Batkid Begins” via purchase from digital retailers.
 
SYNOPSIS
 
“Batkid Begins” looks at the “why” of this flash phenomenon. Why did the intense outpouring of spontaneous support for a child reverberate among the world and become one of the biggest good news stories ever? The film explores what happens when an event goes viral, and reveals surprising truths about what happens when a nerve is touched in our digital society. Will the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfill its mission to help Miles reclaim his childhood after battling disease for more than half his short life?
 
In the end, the film leaves audiences to decide: did Miles need the world for inspiration? Or did the world need Miles?

Batkid Begins - The Wish Heard Around the World

I received a review copy of this awesome documentary movie that I watched with my boyfriend. This documentary follows Miles Scott, an American child and cancer survivor. His wish was to be “Batkid”, a sidekick of the eponymous comic book superhero Batman. I teared up and got goosebumps when I watched how selflessly so many people came together to give this courageous young man his wish. Miles knew for that day he WAS a superhero and had SAVED Gotham. Scott’s inspiring story and the way everyone pitches in, from the police to the San Francisco Giants to Hollywood special effects geniuses to President Obama took the world by surprise. This DVD is more like watching an expanded local news segment than a movie but is definitely a must watch for anyone that is looking see the good in the world, wants to be inspired, touched, and entertained.

    My Thoughts:
    When I received my review copy I took it with me to my parents house knowing that my nephew had watched every Tom & Jerry movie and found their antics hilarious. As soon as the previews started he put his iPad down and was laughing even before the opening credits played. This animated movie based on both Tom and Jerry and Jonny Quest with its great animation and artwork is truly entertaining for young and old alike. It had both my nephew and brother-in-law captivated from beginning to end. I must also admit that my sister and I sat there watching it ,too. Leaving Mom to finish cleaning up the lunch dishes. This is a must see for anyone who loves the be entertained.
